The story and exploits of an old embedded programmer who should know better.

Raspberry Pi Darkside Project:
I got my hands on a Raspberry Pi and was quite impressed but as usual I found Linux distro's on it well like Linux. Now don't get me wrong Linux on servers is great but as a desktop OS it always leave me feeling like some half completed coding project. It never seems to get away from it's roots and still contains Linux centric ideas like mount points, root directory, 4 virtual desktops and the like. I did however in trying to find a distro for it I liked run across bare metal coding it which gave me the big idea. As an aside the best distro I found was Puppylinux for actual usability with Slitaz a close second. For sheer sexiest on screen I couldn't go past Linux Lite but it's big fall down was it's speed.

So what was the big idea go back to an old project I had mothballed many years ago called Darkside which is a sort of cut down Windows UI clone and merge it onto a cut down linux thread kernel. So there we had it like in the movie Inception the idea that would form the vision. So the story begins.
